Saturday Beach Picnic

The rest of the weekend was filled with picnics at two different beaches. On Saturday evening, we had a Mom's Club Picnic that all involved had so much fun. We were supposed to be home and settled by 7:30, we didn't even leave the park until after 8:00, surprisingly there were very few meltdowns by the children.
I really only have one photo of the boys while they were eating dinner.

The rest of the pictures were of my friend Kristin's son, David. He is a three year old boy who knows how to work the crowd, well at least the moms of the group. Earlier in the evening he went walking along the beach and returned soaked from head to foot. Kristin, being the well prepared mother, had a change of clothes ready for him when he returned. As the group was beginning to clean up, Brian took the boys down to the beach again, five of them total. Another dad went with them with his son, Eliott. After the moms finished cleaning up, Kristin, Jessica and I went down to help Brian control the children. When we arrived, they were trying to copy Brian while he was skipping rocks, unfortunately most of their rocks were big thunks in the water. Still they were having fun. Eliott is only about two years old and knew he was not allowed to get wet. Well all of them knew they were not supposed to get wet, but that doesn't mean anything in boy speak. So Eliott would throw a stick and it would get too close to the water, so he would nicely encourage David to go and get it. This went on for about 15 minutes. Then the stick went further into the water and of course a few minutes later in went David to get it. Only the bottoms of his pants were wet, but since he already was there, he thought it would be alright to go in further. Again, I am sorry Kristin for laughing as hard as we were. It was just the funniest thing I have witnessed in a very long time. Here are a few of the pictures of David.
"Mom, I only got a little wet."
"Are you sure there isn't a dry spot back there?"
